Tom D'Ambrosio has been involved in sales,
service and the support of various products and services
since his college days,(1973-1977), at
Northern Michigan University. After school
he returned to southeast Michigan, where he had grown up
and landed a good job at National Lumber Company.
After a severe building down turn in the early 80's, Tom
ended up making a career shift by entering into the
electronics industry. At that time, he joined
Sharp Electronics Corporation and was appointed
Regional Manager in the Retail Systems Division where he
successfully built a territory of quality dealers
throughout the Midwest. After traveling
extensively for several years he was offered a "stay
at home job" as Retail Systems Manager for one of
his favorite dealerships, CRS, Inc. of Kalamazoo.
There he spent 5+ years selling Cash Registers, computer
based Point-of-Sale and Video Surveillance Systems.
He was also very much involved in the everyday
management and decision making of that multiple location
corporation. In 1990 however, Tom decided to take
a big pay cut and return home to where his heart was,
beautiful northern Michigan. As they say, "A
view of the bay is worth a cut in pay". After
becoming an independent contractor at that point in his
career, he continued his successful marketing of the
same types of electronic systems. In 1998, Tom
built a new home/office in the Houghton Lake area in an
effort to more centrally locate himself as he still
represents several companies throughout a large part of
Michigan. In June of 93', Tom suffered a spinal cord
injury which had little effect on his business
operations and actually got him more involved in some
new activities, as pictured on the left, (competitively
riding in the
US Air
Force Marathon on September 19, 2009). Today,
Tom is very actively involved in the sport of
handcycling, logging 2000+ miles per season and
competing in numerous regional races around the upper
Midwest. Tom also considers himself an activist an
advocate for the disabled community and does consulting
work relating to accessibility and other disability
related issues.

About the Business
|
|
 |
Oak Forest Sales & Consulting LLC, Tom's newest
venture, was officially launched during the late summer
of 2008 through the gracious and top notch help and guidance of
Chuck
Nienhius of
Michigan Rehabilitation Services,
Mike Vuillemot of the
Labelle
Entrepreneurial Center at Central Michigan
University,
Ed Keeter from
Keeter
Consulting, and also
Andrea Graham
of Graham Consulting, who put all the marketing
materials together for the new project. After accumulating
a wealth of sales experience over many years, Tom has decided to expand
his talents and teach basic sales classes which are
based upon what he has learned from a host of sources. Some of
the course is derived from the book, The Best Seller,
written by famous author Ron Willingham. Tom
conducts the half day classes for small groups of
business students in a casual, fun and interactive
setting. Oak Forest Sales is also a business
whereby Tom can possibly represent products from your
business in places that your current advertising and
marketing schemes are not reaching. One of the very
successful products represented by Tom's company is a
great emergency preparedness product called the
EMERGENTag™. Tom
regularly travels the highways and back roads throughout
most of Michigan as he calls on businesses of all types
and sizes. Perhaps he can expose your products or services to an all new customer base
while professionally representing your company on a mutually beneficial and
easy term contract basis? Tom also has 17+ years
of Internet experience and is willing to teach on-line
selling and or help you plan and set up your own sales
web sites. He can also teach clients how to utilize
on-line auction houses like eBay, Amazon, Yahoo, uBid
and similar mass sales sites. Another service
offered by Tom's new business is basic computer
hardware, software and or Internet training.
Again, small casual interactive groups are Tom's key to
teaching clients what they want to learn in a short
period of time at a very reasonable cost. In fact,
affordability in today's business atmosphere is a
positive factor which applies to all of Oak Forest's
service offerings!
